Question
what do sugar gliders do at night and what are there supplies also is it easy taking care of them

Answer

wheel
Sugar Gliders are to me anyways NOT extremely hard to take care of.. Keep in mind that I have been around and have worked with many different exotics over the years.. so a Hippo's diet seems a little complex compared to a tiny sugar glider.. but that being said there should be just as much care taken into consideration when purchasing any animal let alone a small exotic..

DIET is most likely the most expensive and costly part of glider ownership (aside from the purchase of the glider & cage).. They have a very precise diet they need to be healthy and relatively smell free.. You will need to decide which diet you want to feed and then compile a list from there as far as what you need to buy.. The diet should include the proper amount of Calcium as this is very important to their health.. You are welcome to look thru my older articles which will cover a lot of information on food and food storage..

Things to consider before you buy..
Most people who turn them into rescue have issues with the "smell".. which is much like the musky odor of a ferret if you have been around one.. neutered / spayed gliders tend to smell much less.. but there is always a "smell" to them like most any living animal.. Keeping the cage clean is also VERY Important.. that and the sleeping pouches in which they sleep all day.. but again this is not really a lot of maintenance..

Handling and bonding and taming of the glider is also a big issue for those who do not have the "time" to dedicate.. the less you handle them the less they will be tame.. they have sharp claws which need to be trimmed down once a month or so.. and also very long and sharp teeth..

So as you may think there are a few things you will need being:

A Large Cage (starter Cages are NOT recommended)
Bedding 4 the Bottom
SLeeping & Bonding Pouches
Small Animal Nail Trimmer
Food (Liquid Diet Preferred)
Toys (Parrot Type or Home Made)
Swinging Ropes
Hamster / Chinchilla Exercise Wheel
Food Bowls
Food Storage Bowls 4 Freezing
Water Bottle
ETC

There are many different ways to decorate a cage..
Gliders like different environments each time you clean it.. so set it up differently every time and they will really like you for it.. it is a great way to use your imagination..!!

What gliders do at night is peek out of they pouch to see what is going on..lol
Usually when I open the cage door to feed them they will crawl out and try to be the 1st one to the food bowl..lol
They love to bounce and play, swing and run on their wheel, eat and wrestle, and are always curious when a human comes nearby and they will pounce at your face to say hello.. they chatter and bark to one another as well.. I love to watch them in the evening hours.. they are very amusing to watch and are extremely active.. and after a while they will crawl back into their hanging pouches and take a quick nap.. just to come back out and do it all over again.. and this is about how they do it all thru the night..

I would NOT recommend the cage being in or near your bedroom as they do make a LOT of noise at night..

Hope this info help in your decision.. :)
