I was researching sugar gliders because I really want to get one and I was just wondering if a sugar glider and my chinchilla could be in the same cage.

Dear Summer:

You don't want to house them in the same cage.  There are many chinchilla owners that also have sugar gliders, but they have different dietary and cage requirements.  Best to pick one or the other.  Sugar gliders are definitely high maintenance.  Sugar gliders are small, hamster sized marsupials and chinchillas are larger, rabbit sized rodents.  I have never owned nor researched chinchillas, so I cannot tell you anything else about them, but sugar gliders can have a problem even getting along with each other sometimes.  I would definitely advise against it.
