I have had my glider for four days, today he decided to take a trip behind the couch and never came out!! Ive looked through all peices of my couch and cant find him!!! I guess he could have wandered into another room, but how can I find him? bait? wait?

Answer
Hi Vanessa:

I'm sorry to hear about your lost glider.  First thing you need to do is make sure food and water is available.  How old is your glider?  It is very important that they have access to food and water.  Next you need to glider proof.  Make sure there are no other pets who can harm your glider.  And try to contain the room.  Remove anything that could make him sick if he eats it.  If you suspect he might have gotten into another room, then you will have to be very careful.  Lost gliders have been found in shoes, laundry baskets, boxes of tissue, closets (in pockets, etc.)  The possibilities at this point are endless.  I would put food and water out with his pouch next to them.  Hopefully, he will curl up inside the pouch, but a tissue box usually works well, too.  Most of my gliders can't resist going into a tissue box and at the least tearing it up, but sometime going to sleep in them.  Be careful where you step or sit down.

If you haven't found him by the time you go to bed, set your alarm for the middle of the night to go out and check for him.

I'd like an update on this if you get a chance.
