Question
Hi Betty, i got my pair from irresponsible owners whom dump them away. I'm living in a country whereby gliders are illegal thus resulting in no vets no food and knowledge cater to them. I've to learn everything about them through the internet. Most importantly is their diet. I'm feeding them a diet following quite close to leadbeaters formula everyday day without wheat germ and a baby oat cereal which i'm not sure of. We don't have bee pollen, monkey biscuit and also the calcium and vitamins for them. I'm putting a little Reptocal into the diet which i do not know whether is it right. If i got the right food when should i feed them? I do not know what to feed. I came across glide-r-chow and glide-a-min which 1 thought i found the hope for them, but they website do not send to overseas. then i checked again saw some negative feedback about them in some of the forum. Next, my gliders doesn't seems to be very active at night, they won't come out to play unless i wake them up for food, but straight after eating they would just go back to sleep in the box filled with "colorfast,non-toxic,pet bedding" which seems comfortable to them. I'm wondering if it's because of being still a baby? By the way, i also couldn't figure out their age.

Sorry to trouble you, hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you very much

Jem

Answer
Hello Jem,

How is everything in Singapore? My son has applied to the university there.  Your English is very good.

I emailed my favorite glider website to see if they ship to Singapore.  I will let you know.

You need to be sure your gliders get enough calcium.  Do you have a good blender?  You could grind up eggshells if you can get them small enough (like powder).  You could also use human calcium powder.  Reptocal is fine.  You don't need bee pollen or monkey biscuits.  You can use any kind of cereal in place of the baby oatmeal.  Please go to my website for other diet information:

You should feed your gliders in the evening and take out any leftover fresh foods in the morning.  Mine wake up around 10:00 pm.  Sugar Gliders are nocturnal; they should come out to play during the dark hours. Is it possible that they come out while you are asleep?

A very young glider's tail isn't fluffy yet and it has a very white underside.  A male glider begins to get a bald spot at about four months OOP. An adult glider will weigh around 90-100 grams.  Do you have photos of your gliders?  I might be able to tell their age if I see a photo.

I hope this helps.  Please check out my website and the links. Good luck. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
