Question
i was wondering if i actually have to hold the sugarglider to bond with it or if it is ok to just leave it in its pouch.i have been afraid of it since it bit me,it just jumped om my foot and started biting my toes.i'm a new owner so i don't know much about feeding it so far i have fed it corn,an occasionally ham and pecans,is this ok?

Answer
Hey there!

First off, you always should begin the bonding process by using the bonding pouch. Holding your glider immediately may make her/him feel "trapped" in a sense. By using your pouch your glider will become use to your scent. This will make it easier to adjust to being held.

The first thing you need to do to get your glider use to your hand is using "licky treats". Put some yogurt on the tip of your finger and slowly reach inside the cage. By doing this you will show your baby that your hand brings treats!

About your gliders diet, pecans are not good for gliders. I suggest going shopping! Make sure you purchase fruits, (grapes, apples, etc) Meal worms(They are a glider favorite!), Chicken, ham, and applesauce. Also, it's good to order a vitamin supplement for both your glider's water, and to sprinkle on it's food.

I hope it all works out for you! Please feel free to ask as many questions as you would like. :)
