Question
1.I bought a female glider and her son. She is pregnant. Im told not by the son. Can I dna to find out and will it matter?
2. should I feed her dried crickets or meal worms for proteen?
3. Being that the dad is not around will the son help with the baby or should I separate them?
4. what kind of heater or lamp should I get?

Answer
Well what is done is basically done.. I wouldn't waste the $$ on any type of DNA testing as it really doesn't change things..
The best you can do is to separate them mother from son or better yet have the little fellow neutered..

If you are feeding a proper diet in the first place you shouldn't need to supplemental any calcium / proteins.. using a complete diet such as the Precilla Price diet or the Ledbeaters diet.. you can assure the proper ratio of ingredients for a healthy glider & healthy offspring.. tho extra treats like mealworms or cottage cheese might be welcomed by a hungry momma :)

As far as unity goes.. the son of the female may cause harm to the little one.. or may not it is really hard to predict.. sometimes the mothers also eat their offspring and this can be for many different reasons.. To be safe I would separate the son & get another glider as a companion for him or find him another home for him where he can have company of another neutered male..

If you need to use a heater I would suggest using one outside of the cage.. again for safety purposes.. I live in Seattle & use one of those fake fireplaces in my glider room.. it works amazingly well and has a thermostat assuring their environment wont get to be too warm.. also cover any windows w/ blankets if your cages are close to any to prevent any drafts..

Best Wishes!
