can you tell the age of your glider

Question
I got three sugar gliders about a week ago from someone on line that guess just decided to get rid them they told me they was a year or two years old is there anyway to tell for sure how old they maybe? there is two males and one female if she has a joey will the other male try to harm the young?

Answer
I apologize for the delay.. I was not notified by the website that I had a question pending until this morning..

Usually male gliders will have their "adult" scent glands (on the head & chest) at about 8 months of age.. tho there is not a guaranteed way to properly "age" a glider you can usually notice a difference in the underbelly coat color.. the darker the color on a glider's underside the older he or she may be..

"If" you purchased the 3 gliders together that usually will mean they are already bonded.. and therefore should cause no harm to the new baby.. but be sure to keep an ear out for any scuffles when he arrives..

Best of Luck
