heat pad safety

My snake tank sits on a wooden bookshelf. Is it safe to place a heat pad under
the tank so it sits on the wooden surface? Currently the pad is on the side of the
tank but that is not very effective. Thxoxo

Hi Jake.  In my opinion...I do not think your heating pad will be unsafe being used on the wood. BUT, it might cause discoloration of the wood.  I recommend putting a slab of tile/ceramic on top of the wood in that area and then putting the heating pad on top.  Another idea is to use a heat lamp instead.  Good luck and thanks for writing :-)
