Question
hi iam sure you get this question all the time but we are having a bit of an issues. We just got a baby corn snake not to long ago and was told that she has eaten at least 3 times. But now that we have her she not eating and i don't think its due to shedding so far she has none of the signs. I have the tank set up right and she seems to be very happy but twice now she refused food ( six days apart). We even left her in the tank with the pinky over night. I have already email the breeder but he has yet to get back to me. We are all very attached to her and don't want to lose her. we'll do anything to get her to eat. How long can she go without eating iam getting worried. Please give me as much advice as you can Thank you for your time.

Answer
PLace the snake and the pinky in a small container like perhaps the deli cup it came in or a small empty butter container.  If you've tried live try dead or vice versa.  If none of that works (this is gross...) take the pinky and split the crown of it's head open with a sharp knife or razor blade then put it in the cup w/ the snake.  That almost always works.  And the last resort is force feeding.  The best way to accomplish this is with adult mouse tails.  Cut the entire tail off the mouse (frozen mice definately better here) and, starting with the big end first, gently slide the tail down the snake throat.
