Question
Last year in Aug. we found a baby King snake in the house, about two weeks later we found another one in the same area of the house. I was freaked out for about five weeks waiting to see if there would be more. We assumed they were gone. Then last night we found two more baby snakes. Does the mother lay the eggs and leave, does she come back to the same place each year to lay eggs, and how can we make sure this does not happen again? We have sealed all crackes and holes our house is on a slab.

Answer
They do not come back to the same area each year so you are in luck. That is correct, they do pretty much lay eggs and leave the babies to fend for themselves. The super good news is that these are awesome snakes to have around. King snakes eat other snakes. I would love to have dozens of them around to keep the rattlers & copperheads at bay (not to mention controlling the rodent population). As far as prevention, all you can do is to make your house a poor target by taking away food (rats), water, and shelter. You cannot take away the shelter and they will usually find water, so make sure you take away all the food you can. Hope this helps!
