my corn snake gets agitated when handled

i bought a corn snake last week, im not sure of the age but it is around 2 foot long.  when i first bought it it seemed perfectly happy to be handled however a few days ago my girlfriend dropped it into the tank in a rush and ever since it seems to get agitated wenever it is touched, do you know whether it will continue to act like this and how i can encourage it to relax?

Little things like that can discourage a snake. your best option is just to leave it alone and dont handle it for a few weeks. let it settle back down. after about 2 weeks it should calm down again.

if not, after 2 weeks or so, start handling it once every 3-5 days but only for a few minutes and gradually increase the amount of time and frequency that you take it out. hopefully this gradual increase will help the snake gain back its trust in you and will become just as friendly as it was.
