Power feeding- eating habits of ball pythons

Question
I recently got a ball python that's about 4 years old from a friend who's girlfriend was not fond of him.  When I put in two small fuzzies he immediately devoured both of them within 10 minutes.  Then I tried a bigger rat and it was the same story- in his mouth and dead within minutes.  I was wondering if he will keep eating like some animals if I keep feeding him or if when he's full he'll stop.  I want him to get as big as possible but the last thing I want to do is hurt him or worse off make him eat himself to death.  I really do want a big snake though. Thanks in advance!!

Answer
Hello Casey,

Power feeding is never a good idea... It will cause your snake to become to fat and may have an ill affect. If you feed your snake one rat a week it will grow to its maximum size.

If your snake does not take to rats then you can feed it two adult mice.

Hope this helps
