Lizard Breeding

Question
When is lizard breeding season? I think I have a lizard that been mated.

Answer
Hi Livia, For most species breeding occurs in the spring after they have emerged from their winter slow-down period. That allows the young to be born in the warm months when insect and other food is most available. Egg laying species will seek out a slightly damp area in the enclosure to deposit or bury their eggs. I can be more exact if you tell me what specis of lizard you have.
