Question
Please help me...I think that we are going to lose our 3 month old leopard gecko.   I have had him to the Vet a couple of days ago and she gave him a anti-biotic, he was a great eater first when we got him but over the past 3 weeks he hasn't eaten anything !  We have him housed properly from everything that you ave posted in you advice and we were feeding him crickets, meal worms and a wax worm as a treat once in a while.  I'am waiting for him to poop to take a fecal sample to my vet but he hasn't done anything yet.  He is very lethargic and his tongue is very red ! I've gotten a little baby food into him the vet said to give him a veg one.  I think he's going to pass away any minute because he is flipping over onto his back and his mouth is all distorted...its like he is drawing it in on one side like he is gagging and he is not opening his eyes hardly !  Please help us my son is heart broken because we have cared for him properly and not mauled him at all !   La

Answer
Hello Leslie,

Oh I am very sorry to hear this!
What prompted you to take him to the vet before he became ill like this, for a fecal?
Do you have any idea what antibiotic he was given & the amount by any chance?
It sounds like he has had a terrible reaction to being overmedicated.
Can you get any fluids into him using a plastic syringe & or a plastic dropper?  If you can try to get some activated charcoal from the pharmacy to get into him, that "may" help with the drug reaction to start flushing it out of his system.  It might already be too late, if he was given ivermectic or ivomec, etc.
