Question
Close Up
I have a female het pied female that just laid a clucth of 5 eggs for me. Today I noticed the left side of her mouth doesnt seem closed properly. Now I noticed since ive had her the left side of her mouth has never been 100 right. But she has never had any issues eating, shedding etc . No sounds coming from her signaling RI , no bubbles from nose or mouth , no discharge. I do feed live. Any help I would appreciate.
AnswerWell, it's not an immediately obvious issue--I would take a rubber cake spatula and gently open her mouth, and take a look on that side--if you see any redness, cheesy deposits, etc, then it may be a mouth infection. If that side seems swollen or misshapen, it may be something else. If you see nothing at all wrong, try gently manipulating it to realign it.
If it looks like there's nothing obvious wrong, but it's still like that in a week, I would take her to a vet. (Obviously, if you see anything obviously not right, a vet visit is in order).
