Answer
Hello Amy

First be sure that your female is five/six months odl but not older then six months for her first litter, the male should be at lest four months thou six/eight months is better. Before you start breeding guinea pigs be sure you have three cages, one for the pair, one to put the male in before the female gives birth and one for the babys untill you sell them. Too be sure shes pregnant leave the pair together for five weeks this will insure she comes into heat twice meaning if they didnt mate the first heat they will the second. When she is two weeks pregnant she will begin to eat and drink more, when sehs four weeks pregnant she will be getting a belly in the last few weeks of pregnancy you can feel the babys kicking(at around seven weeks), she is pregnant for two months, the babys are born fully furred and can see, hear, walk and eat normal food but need there mothers milk for four weeks. The female must only be allow to have one/two litters a year because if she has more then that she will overtire and her life span will be greatly shortened.
