QuestionPatches, my 3 year old Guinea Pig has almost stopped eating and drinking. He has had crusty eyes and a bloody discharge from his rear end. He stays in his house most of the time and will not eat fruit. I regularly give vitamin c in his water. I am at a loss for something else to do. We cannot afford to take him to a vet, I need to know what I can do. Please Help,
AnswerHe started out with an upper respiratory infection, but it has gotten really severe. You can try the treatment listed on my website for URIs, but his is so severe that he most likely will not make it with out vet care, if he is bleeding from the rectum that means his internal organs are already quiting. My website is http://woopets.bravehost.com . You also have to force feed him water and food, with out them he will die with in 48 hours.
