Question
I just got a guinea pig given to me for our classroom.  I didn't know I couldn't use ceder shavings.  She has been in them for 2 days.  As soon as I read not to do that I took her out.  Is she ok?

Also, I need to know how to cut the nails.  Her toes are pretty ugly.

We keep her in an 10 gallon aquarium and it seems so small, but I take her home every night and put her in on an old bedspread that has a little fence around it.  She plays in there every evening.  Is this good enough or should I look for a new day time cage?

Answer
it sounds like your doing very well with trying to learn how to take care of piggies. you should use pine woodchips. she will be fine you took her out right when you needed to. :) she sounds like shes having a good time the. your doing great! :)a bar cage should be good she does need a little more room to run around in her home. you should cut them below the blood line. DON'T CUT HER TOE OFF. if you think you can't do it you can always take her to the vet. her nails should be cut every three weeks.
