Poisoning or something else?

Question
I have 2 boar selfs, about 2 years old, that I got from a rescue home a year ago.  I regularly put them in a run on the lawn.  3 days ago they ate some foxglove (I hadn't realised this was poisonous) and I had to take the two of them to the vet.  The signs that they were displaying were loss of appetite, unable to hold their heads up and just flopping down wherever they lay.  They are both home now but the one that had the worst signs is still showing the same signs despite 36 hours in the animal hospital under observation and syringe feeding.  I'm worried that the problem is not related to the foxglove (as I would think they'd be over that by now) but something else entirely.  Do you know of any other causes for this kind of behaviour?  They are both now eating and the vet says they were passing urine and faeces but I haven't seen this yet.  Can you help?

Answer
Hello Tiggy and thanks for the question.

I am sorry to hear of the situation that you and your pets are in. If you have gone to the vet and are still having problems, the BEST thing you can do is get back in to the vet. Your problem sounds serious and only a exotic/guinea pig expert vet can offer the best treatment for the sick animal.

Good luck to you and I am sorry that I cannot help more,
Ryan
