Question
How do I care for a mother gerbil and her babies?

Answer
You should make sure she has plenty of food even some cat or dog food mixed in for added protein. Make sure she has more water, do not use cedar or pine bedding. I use corn cob and have never lost a gerbil to repiratory infections. Take wheels and toys out leaving just the food bowl, water bottle, bedding and maybe some shredded up toilet paper. You can give her toilet paper or paper towel rolls to chew up. Its normal for her to dig in the nest and kick pups around, won't hurt them. Just make sure they have a white dot or spot on their tummies indicating that they're getting milk. ~Ashley~
