GERBIL MITES???

I JUST bought a gerbil like 3 hours ago and was wordering do they groom themselves THAT MUCH its just one of the 2 and i was wondering if she had lace mites? or is she pregnant! she also licks herself on her genitals and it might look like she has scoliosis (or some other spinal disorder) just wondering...

Hey, yes gerbils constantly groom themselves everywhere to keep themselves clean and healthy. If they have mites they will be losing fur and have red patches of skin as well. As with your gerbil having a spinal disorder there's not much that can be done there. I'm pretty sure your gerbils are normal though. Grooming is always a good sign though. :) As long as they aren't biting themselves they should be okay. :-) If you have anymore questions i'm here to answer.
