What is she doing?

Dear Sheila,
I have my dwarf hamter a month or two I think, and I have a cage with a tunnel but my hamster tends to like putting her bedding in her tunnel. I DON'T KNOW WHY! Is this normal or not? Could you contact me quickly?

I don't know why, but dwarf hamsters seem to love sleeping around!  Whereas Syrians might keep their nest in the same place all their lives, dwarfs like to sleep in different places at different times.  I currently have a Winter White and whenever I replace his bedding, I set up three places for him to sleep - and still he moves it into a tube he's meant to play in.

So I think your hamster is just doing what dwarf hamsters like to do!
