Question
MY SONS HAMSTER, HAS DECIDED TO MOVE FROM HIS BEDROOM WHICH WAS UP A TUBE, AND IS LIVING IN HIS TOILET. HE ALSO HAS SMALL BLACK FLECKS IN HIS FUR, ALTHOUGH WE DONT HAVE ANY MORE ANIMALS THAT HE COULD HAVE GOT FLEAS FROM. HE SEEMS VERY LETHARGIC. IS IT JUST HIS AGE ? THANKS

Answer
What type of flakes do they look like? You could buy a small animal flea and tick spray and use that to see if it gets rid of the black flecks.
Also, I don't know why hamsters do it, but some seem to get so lazy that they will find the most convenient spots to sleeps ie, their food dish, bathroom area or under the water bottle. It's actually normal even though it's just very gross to us. My hamster pees in his wheel and that's his bathroom, then he runs around in it. So I clean it out every day. I would just clean his bathroom out everyday to keep it cleaner for him.
