My Black Bear Hamsters poo problem

Question
Hi. I have an (almost) 7 month old Black Bear Hamster named Doki Doki.

Today when I was cleaning his cage, I noticed there was one long string of poo. Probably an inch long. By the time I saw it, it was pretty hard. I cleaned it out and about an hour later there was a fresh long poo, not as long, but still longer than normal poo, and softer than normal poo. but not mushy or smeary.

He was very active last night, his nose and eyes are clear today, his ears are still perky, and his pootie is free from diarreha fecal, so I don't think its wet tail unless its the onset of it.

I gave him some sugarless oatmeal grains- which is what we gave to wet tail patients and new arrivals at the pet store I was working at. And he stored them in his mouth greedily and went to bury them in his nest... so he's acting normally with food.

Is this something I should be concerned about- or is this a normal occasional thing? It just kinda happened today as far as I can tell. Otherwise he seems fine.

I'm just an overly concerned mother maybe- but its better to be overly concerned than not concerned at all, right? ^_^

Answer
A hamsters poo can be just as unique as human poo. The only time poo should be a sign something is wrong is when their bottom is covered in it, and diarreha is visible in the cage. The difference in poo could be from something he ate that was out of the norm, like fresh greens.
