in the same cage

my dad wants me to get another hamster and right now i have a djungarian hamster. can i put the same kind of hamster in the cage or a different breed of hamster? or i just cant get another hamster?

Hi Amy,

    Being your hamster is a type of Dwarf, you should be able to put another type of Dwarf hamster or the same type of hamster, in the same cage. If you do not want babies, you will want to make sure that the hamsters are the same gender if putting them in the same cage.
   Any type of Syrian hamster (black bear, golden, teddy bear or fancy) will not work because these type of hamsters like to be alone in their cage.
