Question
Hi, my daughter has a 3 year old white albino hamster which we have noticed in the last few days her belly has swollen considerably and has changed to a grey colour, we have read on the net that it could be constipation so we have been feeding her greens but doesn't seem to like it much and she is pooing still but it looks normal.  What do you think it could be and should we take her to vets asap coz we're getting kinda worried about her.  Thanx for your time

Answer
wow the hamster is pretty, they generally live 2-3 years and generally a little home remedy of feeding your hammie a strawberry helps with any constipation or bloating and if he is pooing normal it may be an intestinal infection and I would take your hammie to a vet asap because if her tummy is turning grey and it's really swolen something isn't right. even with a little gas her stomach should be huge and swolen. I would take her to a vet asap. good luck and keep me posted on what the vets says. i'm really interested to find out what is truly wrong with your adoreable hammie.
