Question
Hi. My Siberian White(Snowflake) has begun to what sounds like chirping and clicking. At first it was only when I was playing wit her in my hands, then she started doing it all the time. Up to that point she had never done it. She did have a small fall the other night, but didn't appear to be hurt. She's still eating and drinking. I know this because she'll eat fresh carrots and she uses her toilet regularly. I can't figure this out. Should I have her see a vet or am I blowing this out of proportion? I'm tremendously worried about her. I've had the pleasure of having her since February 06. What's going on here?

Answer
Apologies for the delay in responding - I've been having a few Internet problems.

Squeaking, snoring, and crying are normal sounds for a hamster - some make noises, others don't.  Sometimes they make noises out of the blue. I honestly don't know what the clicking sound is. Maybe she was winded in the fall and this is what is causing these sounds.

I would advise monitoring her - see if there is any change in her behavior - if there is, I would suggest getting her examined, just in case she did injure herself when she fell.
