Licking the sides of the aquarium

And thanks for answering my question. I was wondering why does my gerbil lick the sides of the aquarium even though the water bottle is full with clean water and is operating like it should? Thanks for the help!

hello,

it may be that there is a salt or something they taste on the side, my gerbils do this all the time. It is nothing to worry about but i found putting in a salt or mineral lick normally helps!! You can buy one of these from your local pet shop!!!
