I am not really sure what happened but i bred my hamster and checked her everynight and she wasnt in heat i was soo excited and everything .... the 16th day came and no babies yet then the 17th day I was getting upset....on that 17th morning she was in HEAT!! I freaked out and started crying i was really looking forward to these babies but i could swear she was pregnant she made a nest and everything what happend!!!!!?




****I bred her again and I dont know if it worked this time though.....i get to check on tuesday , what if the same thing happens again .... THe mom and dad r for sure both old enough and i cant find anything that says why this happend plz help me!

It sounds to me your hamster wasn't pregnant. How are you telling if your hamster is in heat, its not something thats blatently visable. Hamsters make nests to sleep in and store food, not just for birthing babies. Your hamster should get visably fatter if shes pregnant.

uh, well u can tell if they r in heat cuz they freeze with there tail in the air.....you must not know very much about hamsters!!! I know more than u!!!

Yes I do, I had females and they never just "stoped with thier tail in the air" The way to tell if thier ready to mate is to take your finger and press lightly on the hamsters backside near the bottom, if the hamster assumes the mating stance by squating as it might look, then its ready. Its not really something you can just "see" I have pictures and diagrams all in my book.
