traveling with newborn pups

Question
My syrian mother delivered her first litter early yesterday morning. I am on break but I need to go back to school today, I would really like to take her with me. It is a 1.5-2hr drive from where I am to my school. If I do take them I would wrap the cage in towels and hold them in my arms the whole ride, as I did when I brought her. My hamster is very familiar with me, before her pregnancy I held her every day. She is not easily scared and so far she is taking excellent care of her pups. I just want to know if traveling would be detrimental to the newborns or if done carefully it would be ok. Please respond ASAP
thanks!

Answer
Hi Mica,

i think the best thing to do would be to leave them where they are!!  Even though the mother hamster knows you she would not be very happy with hte movement of the cage and everything would smell different too - she would probably kill them!!  You should not move the cage at all and should not even open the cage for the first two weeks exceptin a emergency to give them clean food and water.

Please leave them where they are!!  You could end up losing the whole litter!!

Kind Regards,

Tammy
