buying gerbils

Hi, i am thinking of buying a pair of gerbils for the first time i have been looking at the glass tanks at the moment i have my eye on a 30'' tank would this be big enough for two gerbils? also do you know which has the best temperament out of the male and female i would be most grateful if you could answer these before i buy a pair.

Hello, yes a 30 gal tank will be more than big enough for two gerbils. As far as males or females go, their personalities are the same really. It's just if you prefer girls or boys, that's what really determines it. A 30 gal tank will provide them with more then enough room and space. A 30gal or 20gal long tank will be good too :-).
