bar chewing

i have 2 hamsters  and since i got them they never stop chewing the bars i put them in the ball tell them id give them a treat if they stoped chewing the bars but they dont is there anything i can buy for them to chew on so that they wont chew the bars

In my experience, the little ones just LOVE chewing on the bars! If you give them some chew toys like toilet paper tubes, pieces of hard cardboard, or actual chewing stuff you find at the pet store, that might lessen the problem. However, they will probably still chew on the bars.

We have tried everything to get ours to stop, but they just like to do it. My advice is that if it is really bugging you at night, then temporarily move the hamsters to another place before you go to bed (i.e. out in the living room if they are in the bedroom).

Also, just wanted to check - are your hamsters in separate cages? If they aren't, and they are syrian hamsters (see this article: http://www.petwebsite.com/hamsters/syrian_hamsters.htm), you will need to separate them asap, as they will eventually begin fighting brutally.
