New Hamster Owner

Question
I just got my hamster a three days ago; and I wish to clean he's cage. But every time I am up, Simon (my hamster) is asleep. I really want to clean he's cage but i do not wish to wake him up. What should I do?

Since hamsters are nocturnal creatures, he'll usually be asleep when you're awake. I know how peaceful hamsters look when they are sleeping, but the cage must be cleaned. Simon will be just fine if you wake him up; don't worry. Alternatively, if you really wanted to wait until he's awake, clean the cage at night.
