Sleeping more than usual

Question
I have a 2 year old female teddy bear hamster who has been sleeping almost the entire night lately. However, she is eating and drinking regularly, and seems completely normal when I wake her up and take her out of the cage. She runs quickly and seems very alert.

Does this sound like a problem?

Hi there,

Honestly, it really doesn't sound like a problem.  Since your hamster is 2 years old, she is getting pretty old.  As hamsters become older, they tend to sleep more (just like humans :)

So, unless you see any signs of illness, such as lethargy, a runny nose, or not eating/drinking, you don't have to worry.
