flat ears

my daughter's hamster's ears are flat against her head we have had the hamster about 1 wk without handling to allow the hamster to adjust, no signs of wet tail. what could this be and what can we do?

    This is normal. Hamsters keep their ears down most of the time, specially when they are sleeping. When they are up and active, then her ears should be pointy.
