Question
I have kept a variety of hamsters and have a lot ofk knowledge about them as it is part of my job

I used to have three winter cambles and one past away then a few weeks later the larger of the two left ate the small one it was awful to find but he was empty on the inside i was wondering why he would have done this i think that the hamster dies naturally they where three years old and a few months would he have eaten the other one as survival to get rid of it to stop preditors getting to him or is there another eeason behind this they where female if this helps for years they lived happy together,

they each had there seperate house and food bowl in the caged. any light on the sistaution would be fantastic

hamsters are naturally cannibals and they will eat the bodies of their other comrads as a habit and basically instincts. In my opinion, they do it because they are also disposing of the body. I know it's disguisting and I've seen it a lot.
