Question
Hi, i have two dwarf hamsters a male and a female and one night they had two babies, will you see i didn't know about them, but in the same night i saw them mating. the two baby hamsters are 2 weeks old now :)i did keep the male and female together but the last time they mated after the litter was born they stopped doing it is it possible that she is pregnant and will be delivering her new litter soon.

Answer
Hi Omran,

When a male and female dwarf hamster are kept together, they will constantly mate.  So, it's very likely that you will have a new litter of dwarves soon (most likely within the next 1-3 weeks).  Be sure to move the two babies out of the cage once they are 3 weeks old, since they will be weaned.  Once they're 3 weeks old, the mother would "kick" them out anyway, since she's most likely pregnant.

If you don't want your hamsters to continue to mate, you'll need to move the male hamster to another cage before the new litter is born.

Good luck with your new arrivals!

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask :)
