Hamster missing a tooth

21 13:29:09

Question
Hi, I just noticed the other day that my hamster is missing one of his front teeth. I have no idea how this happened, is there a way to prevent this from happening to his other tooth?
Also, what should I do, and is he in pain? (His behaviour hasn't really changed)

Thank-you in advance!

Answer
Hi Pam,

Hamsters' teeth, especially their two front teeth, are vital to them.  Since your hamster is missing one, he may have problems eating.  I would strongly advise you to consult a vet.  A vet can determine why the tooth is gone, and precisely what you need to do to make sure there are no adverse health effects.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
