my hamster is dehydrated

my hamster ling-ling has not drank water for about four days
i went out of town and the sitter did not give him water
his right eye looks sticky and will not open
he seems very week.
will he be okay?

Hi Erin,

    He won't be all right if he don't start drinking some water. If he will not drink on his own then try giving him some water by hand with an eye dropper. If that does not work then he should be seen by a vet.
    For the eye, take a wet Q-tip and gently rub over the eye (from outside corner to nose) until it opens. So not try to pry open the eyelid with your fingers, as a hamsters eyelids are very delicate and can tear easily.
