Is my gerbil deaf or just doesnt care or just is a heavy sleeper?

Hi it's me again, i have a female gerbil who is always or usually the last one to wake up and when i sometimes bang the tank over and over, she doesn't wake up, just keeps on sleeping. and doesn't wake up until i nudge her and even that doesn't work. So i evetually pick her up and she's hyper again. So, is she deaf slightly or just is a heavy sleeper? I can't tell....She's my favorite gerbil......please help....

This is a hard question!! It could be that maybe she is deaf? But without having her examined it would be impossible to tell!

Is she healthy in every other way? Such as clear eyes, nose, bottom etc? And eating/drinking normally?

If you are worried i would take her to the vets and explain your situtation because it is quite unusual for them not to wake up when you bang the glass!!

If you find out that she is deaf, or it is something else i would avoid breeding from her, just so you don't pass it on to the babies!!
