I think my hamster is dying...

HI I HAVE A TEADY BEAR HAMSTER AND I'V HAD HER FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND TODAY  I GOT HOME FROME SCHOOL  WENT TO CHECK ON HER AND SHE WAS JUST LAYING THERE AND HER RIBB CAGE WAS SORTA WEIRD LOOKING AND SHE WAS BREATHING VERY HEAVILY AND HER EYES WHERE CLOSED.SHE HAS NOT EATEN ANYTHING BAD SO WHATS WRONG WITH HER!!!

Hi Zo, it doesnt sound good for the poor little lady, she sounds quite ill, you have two choices, you can take her to the vet and get her checked out more thoroughly and maybe get her some treatment, or you can make the rest of her life as comfortable as possible, giving her plenty of love and treats. if she is on her way to the big exercise ball in the sky it is unlikely that your vet could do anything though as little will prolong a hamsters life once it gets to that stage. observe her for a day or so and if you are still worried pop her along to your vet as it could just be something that needs treatment. hope this helps, Jen
