nursing hamsters

Hello, I came home today and found that my hamster just had babies. Is there anything special I could feed the mom, while she's nursing.

Mommy hams need protein to help them stay strong. Bread soaked in milk, cooked beans, and cooked beef are good choices. A regular nutritional hamster food blend will make up the majority of her diet. The babies will enjoy softened hamster food, and a lowered water bottle so they can reach. Also small pieces of lettuce and other watery veggies can help mom and babies stay hydrated, just don't over feed or loose stools can set in.
