Question
i mated my hamster, Boo with my sisters hamster and he is alot smaller then her and was finding it hard to get on her back and i put them in a big plastic box and left them alone for a while so is it likely that my hamster may not be pregnant?

Answer
Females are naturally larger then males, so it may seem like he is having trouble, but he knows what he is doing. There is always that chance your female may not have become pregnant, you must be aware of what shows that your female is in heat, since if she is not pregnant she will show signs of being in heat 4 days or so after the mating. If she does the back arch finger test when she is in heat or has a musky smell (my female happens to give me both signs). If you are unaware of how to see if your female is in heat, then you just have to wait and see if she begins to build a large nest and if pups emerge by 16 days.
