my hamster i pregnent the male and the female fight when they are together why do they fight and who needs to be takin away from the babys mother or father and they are dwarf hamsters

Hi Jennifer,

    The Father needs to be taken out of the cage. The babies need Mom's milk so that they can live.
    When a female Dwarf hamster gives birth, she comes right back into heat and if the male is still in the cage, they will mate and she could end up pregnant again. This would be hard on the female to be raising babies and pregnant. Not to mention giving birth again so soon after the first one. This is probably why they fight.
