Why does our gerbil flip

hi at school we have a pet gerbil recently she had babies now there is only one left a baby girl in her too. often she suddenly flips while walking weird what could be causing  this ?

This sounds like strange behaviour.  Is this the mum who is flipping and walking weird or the baby?   If it is the baby, then perhaps she suffered some neurological problem when developing.  how many babies were there originally?  Did the others die really young? Gerbils can suffer head tilts etc. which can affect their balance, but I'm not sure why she would be walking in a strange way.  Is she dragging a leg or leaning over?  It is hard to know what is wrong without seeing her, but if you want to let me have a few more details I might have a better idea.
