hamster poo and food

hi i have problems with my hamster
my hamster has a black thing stuck on his butt. it cant come off . he hasnt been doing poo for 3 days i am worried about him . he hasnt even touched his food for 3 days.
Help me please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,

It is normal for them to get poo stuck on their fur, so don't panic. Is it just the one piece, and is the rest of the bottom looking clean and dry? You may find that warm water just on that are may make the poo a bit softer and easier to get off.

If you know it is not poo on your hamster, and are not sure what it is you may be best to visit the vet who can help. The fact that he isn't pooing either suggests that something isn't right.
He does however need to be eating and drinking, and so dropper him some water into his mouth with a syring if he is not drinking, and try to encourage him to eat, maybe a piece of fresh fruit will attract him.
Do these things whilst you wait to see the vet.
