2 QUESTIONS BOUT MY HAMSTERS!

HI Shawntiah Jones,

1.i have 2 hamsters, hammie and herbie, there both male dwarf
hamsters, i bought them at petco, they live in the same cage,
they really get along 2gether, but they seem to beitching alot!
and biting there legs like it itches, do you think they have
mites!?!?!?!?!? if they do what should i do without going to vet!?
but i read another answer about the same question, and it saiys
if it licks its hand then scratches, its just getting clean, but
hammie when he sleeps he squeaks, like in pain or it sounds like
its too lazy too  move or a NIGHTMARE MAYBE!
i dont see any mite on them, i checked! so wut could it be please
help!

2.Im planning of buying a S.A.M. cage for them to share, what
do you think? its gonna be big so i dont think they could get
stuck in the same tube, but if they do waht should i do?
i doubt that will happen but what do you think about it?
i think its a good idea!

Hello, well lemme say what they are doing is normal behavior actually. hamsters scratch themselves and constantly groom themselves. They will squeak in their sleep, as long as their legs don't look like they've been chewed on until they are raw or red then they are probably just fine. also I would personally buy a crittertrail 2 cage because it has more room for your two drawf hammies to roam. Choobles my fat dwarf hamster is actually in a critter trail 3 cage and it's a really nice size cage. You can connect S.A.M and critter trail cages together to make a huge cage. If you get the biggest S.A.M cage they have your hammy will be fine. :-) You're doing good though.
