my hamster is pregnant WHAT DO I DO ? plz help

hi i bought a hamster from the petstore, they told  me she is pregnant, i am a new owner, i was just wondering what do i do once she has the babies,also i heard to feed her fresh veggies and nuts so she can produce a supple amt. of milk is this true? Thanks

Hi Jennifer,

    The only thing you need to do is make sure you give Mom some apples, carrots and hard boiled egg everyday. This will give her the extra protein she needs to help raise her babies. Continue to feed her the apples, carrots and hard boiled egg until the babies are 3 weeks old.
    Do not disturb the Mom while she is giving birth nor after. It is important that you do not touch the babies or the nest until they are 2 weeks old. This is when it is safe to hold the babies for a short period of time and the cage can also be cleaned.
    At 3 weeks of age the babies will need to be separated from their Mom and each other (boys in one cage, girls in another).
    At 5-6 weeks of age the babies are ready to go to their new homes.
