QuestionHello,
After reading a few articles about how detrimental the processed ingredients
in most hamster foods are, I really would like to try to feed my 7 dwarves a
primarily raw foods diet. I am vegan, so as far as meat goes I am a little
squeamish. But I want healthy dwarf hamsters. I have one diabetic hamster,
and just lost a most precious mouse to cancer (brain tumor) and I really want
to keep my babies in tip-top shape.
Thank you.
Answer Dear Alysha,
Hamster foods are actually just fine. I fed my dwarf hamsters hamster food from the store and they all lived for at least 4 years, almost double the normal life expectancy.:o
Once a week you can put chopped up carrots or other veggies in there, and twice a week some fruits. But hamsters enjoy the seeds in hamsters mix, and don't you want them to be happy?
I am very glad you are properly caring for your hamsters though! Keep up the good work in keeping them healthy! :) ;) :]
Hope I've helped, follow-up if you need anything else.:)
