hamster eating babies

Question
Our syrian hamster ate all of her babies after 1 1/2 weeks.  There are no bones of remains at all????? Is this normal????

Answer
A mother (hamster, not human,lol) eating her young is normal, especially if the human scent is one them. She will also eat them to decrease the amount of work for her to do, or if one seems ill/is the runt of the litter.
